Women's Rights in Islam | Women's Rights in the Qur'an

Islam guarantees the right of women. Islam has given the highest honor and security of women's lives and property. Islam has provided them security, taken care of their dignity, guaranteed their welfare.
 The various verses and hadiths of the Qur'an contain clear descriptions of women's rights, dignity and their evaluation. The world has opened all sorts of paths for them to succeed in the Hereafter. Islam has ensured a beautiful and happy life for them.

Islam has given women and men equal rights

In the period of ignorance, when the dignity and rights of women were permanently wiped out. At that time the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to earth.  Allah declares, 'O mankind! Verily We have created you from a male and a female, and have divided you among the races and tribes, that you may know one another."

The Divine Message on the Rights of Women - “Women have the right over men; As men have the right to women. ”(Surah Bakbara: Verse 228).

Women’s right to education

In the Holy Qur'an about the education of women, "You treat them (women) well and teach them to behave well" (Surah An-Nisa, Ayah: 19).
The Prophet (peace be upon him) declared, "To teach knowledge  of Islam is the duty (duty) of every Muslim male and female" (Ummus Sahihaan-ibn Majah Sharif).

Better use with women

Allah commands women to do good to them and forbids them from abusing them in any way. And He gives special warning to those who oppress them, transgress the boundaries of Allah's transgression, and exaggerate the limits. He gave special instructions to avoid any irregularities with them and to obey all the laws of Allah and all laws.   Allah says: 'O mankind! Fear your Lord, Who created you from one soul. (Surah An-Nisa: Verse 1)

The rights of women as mothers

Islam has given women the highest status as mothers. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'In the foot of the mother is the child's paradise'. Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrated that once a man came to the court of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and asked, "Who is more entitled to use me?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Your mother." The man asked, Who after that? He replied, 'Your mother'. The man asked again, Who after that? This time he replied, 'Your mother'. (Bukhari).

 Islam guarantees the safety of women

Islam has given rules and regulations for women that by obeying, a woman is able to protect her chastity, integrity is preserved and honor is respected. Allah instructs the women ,  to stay in their homes. Also, women are forbidden from mixing with men, from having casual conversations with them.  In the Holy Qur'an it is said, "Do good to your wives" (Surah An-Nisa, Ayah: 19).

The rights of women as wives

In the view of Islam, men and women complement each other. In this regard, the Holy Qur'an says, "They are to cover you and you are to cover them" (Surah 2-Baqarah, Ayah: 187).
Regarding the importance of the wife, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "A good wife is an indicator of good luck" (Muslim Sharif).
He also said, "He who is good among you is better than his wife" (Tirmizhi).

Widow's rights

Regarding the rights of widows, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Those who take the responsibility of providing for the widows, are those who strive in the cause of Allah and perform constant prayers and fasting." (Bukhari and Muslim).

Women's rights in the  Qur'an

The following are some of the guidelines that the Qur'an has given to dealing with women.

Allah says, 

"As men have the right over women, so is the rights of women over men" (Sura-2-Baqara, Ayat 228).

Allah says,

"Surely Muslim men and women, believing men and women, loyal men and women, truthful men and women, patient men and women, courteous men and women, gifted men and women, men who practice care and shame, men and women who defend their shame. Men and women who remember Allah more, Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and great reward. " (Surah Al-Ahzab, verse: 35)

Allah says,

"Those who accuse the truthful believing women are cursed in the world and the Hereafter. And for them is a great punishment. " (Surah An-Nur, Verse: 23)

Allah says,

"And you live with them kindly. And if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike something and that Allah will bless you with much good for it. " (Surah An-Nisa, Verse: 19)

Above all, it is the responsibility of the government, society and voluntary organizations to come forward to implement the Quran and the Sunnah to establish the dignity, dignity and rights of women.
May Allah Almighty grant Muhammad Ummah to bring the issue of women's dignity and rights to Islam in front of people all over the world. Amin.
