Importance of Zakat and Virtue

In the holy Quran, Prayer has been ordered in 28 places and Zakat. Zakat is one of the main worship of Islam.

Allah says,
"Establish prayer, and pay zakah and obey the Messenger, that you may be merciful" (Surah Nur-56).

Allah  says, "Establish prayer, give zakah and bow with bowers" (Surah Baqra, Ayat-43).

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
'O Mu'adh! You tell them that Allah has enjoined Zakat on their property, which will be distributed among the rich and poor among the people. "(Bukhari, Muslim and Tirmidhi)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
"The foundation of Islam is founded on five pillars. There is no god except Allah, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a messenger sent by Allah, testifying in it, establishing Prayer, paying Zakat, Hajj on physical and financial capabilities, and keeping fast during Ramadan.
 (Bukhari and Muslim)

Abu Hurayrah The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If any owner of gold or silver does not pay the zakat of his property, Allah will heave his property in the fire of hell and on the Day of Resurrection he will give it back, side and forehead on it." And whenever it is cool, it will be heated again in the fire. On that day, he will be punished that day will be equal to fifty thousand years. And until the end of the trial of the bondman will continue. Then he will see that his destination is in Paradise or towards Hell. "(Muslim)

Abu Hurayrah The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'Whoever gives wealth to Allah, though he does not give his zakat, on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be turned into two eyes poisonous snake. Then the snake will be engraved on the Day of Resurrection. The snake will bite on its two faces and say, I am your wealth, I am your property. '(Bukhari)

Zakat is not a mercy to the poor, but its right - which the rich person must earn. That is why Abu Bakr RA Said, 'Those who used to pay a camel rope as zakat during the time of Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) and now if they refuse to pay zakat, I declare war against them' (Bukhari: 1312).
